A Traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for.
Anyone aged between 19 and 23, who is currently unemployed or works less than 16 hours a week, and doesn't have the skills required to get into an apprenticeship or into employment.
As an employer, you can get ahead of the competition by bringing in enthusiastic young people with fresh ideas to your business before they get onto the job ladder. This will allow you to shape the skills and experience of young people from the local community at no financial cost to you. If you decide to offer the trainee an apprenticeship, you could be eligible for an Apprenticeship Grant of £1500.
As an individual, you will gain nationally recognised qualifications such as First Aid at Work, Food Safety, or Personal License.
A Traineeship usually lasts anywhere between 6 weeks to 6 months.
